fficials hope to start on a $5.5 million waterline extension project in the Oakvale Road Public Service District by July of this year.

Region One Planning and Development Council Project Manager Eric Combs said the project has been in the works for a number of years. “Construction may start as soon as July 1, 2017,” Combs said. “Typically waterline construction projects such as this are complete in one year from start of construction. This is one $5,529,000 waterline extension project with three construction contracts. Funding consists of a HUD Community Development Block Grant of $1,500,000, a West Virginia Infrastructure and Jobs Development Council (IJDC) Grant of $1,300,000, a WV IJDC Loan of $2,038,206, a West Virginia American Water Contribution of $640,794, and a Oakvale Road Public Service District contribution of $50,000.”

Combs said actual cost of each construction contract would be determined at the bid opening.
